You may be able to transfer liability to your guest for certain tickets that affect your insurance or driving record.
Eligible tickets
The ability to contest or transfer tickets varies by jurisdiction — to improve your chances, don’t pay the ticket. You may be able to transfer liability for certain tickets that affect your insurance or driving record such as those that involve speeding, running a red light, moving violations (photo and non-photo), assessment of points, or a court appearance.
How to transfer ticket liability – US
Submit a photo of the ticket to customer support within seven days of receiving notice. If the ticket came with an affidavit, complete it and include it when you contact customer support.
How to transfer ticket liability – Australia
Submit a photo of the ticket notice to customer support for review. They’ll provide the required information and state-specific instructions on how to transfer liability to the guest. Note: In certain circumstances, we may compensate hosts by charging guests an inconvenience fee (up to $40).
How to transfer ticket liability – Canada
Transfer of liability is usually not possible, except in Quebec. Contact Canada customer support at (number) with questions or to request supporting documentation.

If the guest doesn’t provide these details within 24 hours, contact UK customer support for help with next steps.
