Technology for remote vehicle access

You can take advantage of technology to offer your guests remote access to your vehicle.

Manufacturer technology

Most newer vehicles have a built-in locking and unlocking mechanism feature installed, helping hosts to offer a remote check-in and checkout. Mercedes me, FordPass™, BlueLink, and Kia Connect are examples of mobile apps from vehicle manufacturers that allow hosts to set up remote access to their vehicles.

Radio frequency pouch

A radio frequency (RF) pouch blocks communication between your vehicle and its keys. It lets you store your key in the vehicle while keeping your vehicle safely locked. When a vehicle key isn’t in an RF pouch, the key communicates with your vehicle, making it possible for a thief to copy the signal and access your vehicle.

Always place your key inside the pouch prior to starting your Resortifi trips. Order an RF pouch for vehicles from our recommended provider in the US, Canada, or the UK.

Lockbox

Lockboxes are a convenient way for hosts to offer remote access to vehicles with their guests. Omoft and SUPERLIT lockboxes are good choices as they’re designed to attach to vehicle windows. Before each trip, make sure the RF pouch with the vehicle keys inside is in the lockbox. You may want to frequently update the lockbox combination. After checking in your guest, share unlocking instructions with them, including the lockbox combination code. Advise guests to contact you if they have any difficulties with the lockbox. Customer support is unable to provide lockbox instructions to guests.
