Travel in the EU from the UK | Hosts
Learn how to handle a guest's request for travel in the EU and what you need to prepare.
Guest requests to travel abroad
If your guest wants to travel to the EU, they should reach out to you in Resortifi messaging to get your approval.
If you approve your guest’s travel to the EU:
- Contact us to share the guest’s travel plans
- Ensure your MOT, insurance, and road tax are current
- Ensure your vehicle is mechanically sound and can safely make the trip — if you’re at fault for a trip requiring roadside assistance abroad by a Resortifi provider, you’re responsible for the charges
- Submit and pay for a Vehicle on Hire Certificate (VE103R) at least a week before the trip — keep a copy in your vehicle for the guest
If you don’t approve your guest’s travel to the EU, cancel the trip penalty-free.
Open the booked trip and tap/click “Modify trip”
Select “I’m uncomfortable with this trip”
Wait for an agent to contact you to confirm the cancellation — they’ll remove any auto-applied penalty charges
Accidents or roadside incidents abroad
If a guest is involved in an accident or has a roadside incident in the EU, responsibility for the charge depends on who is found to be at fault (including the cost of a tow back to the UK, if necessary). When you agree to a guest’s travel abroad, you’re obligated to provide a mechanically sound vehicle that can safely make the trip.
