If you get into an accident or the vehicle is damaged but is still operational and safe to drive, report the damage in Resortifi’s damage reporting center within 24 hours of the incident.
Vehicle can’t be driven after accident/damage
If the vehicle is non-operational and/or not safe to drive, OPTEVEN will tow it to the nearest garage. If towing costs exceed €200, the additional costs will be paid by the host or the guest, depending on who is found to be responsible for the issue. If the vehicle can’t be repaired at that time, OPTEVEN will arrange for guest transport.
Responsibility for roadside service costs in France
You’re responsible for the roadside assistance charge and the cost of all repairs if the mechanic making the repairs provides documentation that service was needed because of your improper or abusive use of the vehicle. Hosts are responsible for flat tire damage costs if the flat was caused by deterioration, age, rot, or a pre-existing condition; otherwise, guests are responsible for the costs.
Restrictions
Roadside assistance coverage isn't available if you or your host violate Resortifi’s Terms of Service, allow an unauthorized driver to use the vehicle, or intentionally cause damage or misuse the vehicle. It’s not available for civil commotions or civil unrest. Nor is it available for damage resulting from acts of war, or nuclear energy or attacks. Roadside assistance is not available for earthquakes or weather-related incidents (flood, storms, etc). It doesn’t extend to the cost of fuel, insurance, or road charges/tolls.
