Checking in for a trip
When you check in for a trip, you must verify your identity, collect the keys, and document the vehicle’s condition. If you and your host agree, you can complete check-in and start your trip up to one hour early.
Verify your identity
You can begin check-in up to 24 hours before your trip start time. To ensure your privacy, only submit identity verification photos during check-in — don’t add them to your Trip Photos. Hosts can’t save or screenshot verification photos shared during the check-in process, and we’ll delete the images once your host confirms your identity.
Note: If you booked a Resortifi Go trip, we’ve already verified your identity, so you’ll skip this step. Learn more about checking in for a Resortifi Go trip.
During check-in, we’ll prompt you to submit the following two identification photos and show you how to mark up the images to hide any sensitive information.
A clear, close-up photo of your driver’s license with all four corners in the image.

A selfie holding your driver’s license next to your face. Make sure your head and shoulders are visible and we can clearly see your face — no hats or sunglasses.

In-person check-in
If you’re meeting your host in person, they’ll ask to see the physical copy of your current, valid license that you already submitted via photo during the check-in window. Hosts can’t accept a photo or screenshot of your license or a digital driver’s license.
Collect keys
Your host must either hand you the vehicle’s keys or give you access to them — even if the vehicle is equipped with remote locking and unlocking. If they don’t, call customer support.

Use the Resortifi app to take and upload time-stamped photos, and follow our guidelines to clearly document all areas of the vehicle. This is essential to protect yourself in case of pre-existing damage or cleaning/smoking issues and to manage reimbursement requests for post-trip incidentals.
How early can I pick up the car?
If your host and vehicle are ready and you two agree, you can complete trip check-in and start your trip up to one hour before the scheduled start time.
Note: You must complete the check-in process in the app for an early trip start to be valid.
