Protection plans – In brief | US guests
How protection plans work
Protection plan cost
How much a protection plan costs depends on the plan you choose. The more a plan costs, the less you’re responsible for paying for damage caused to the host’s vehicle during the trip. The physical damage contract included in a plan limits your out-of-pocket costs for physical damage to host’s vehicle but doesn’t remove your responsibility for interior or mechanical damage you may cause.
When you book a trip, you can see:
- protection plans available to you
- amount of third-party liability insurance included in each plan
- each plan’s out-of-pocket payment limit for physical damage
- cost of the plan you choose, shown as a separate line item at checkout
- We reserve the right to change protection plan pricing at any time
Before choosing a plan, learn more about how insurance and protection work and read plan details. See information below for a summary of US guest protection plans and their cost.
