Paying for your trip

You can pay for your trip using one of several payment methods Resortifi accepts. Note that Apple Pay and Google Pay can take up to 30 days to process refunds to your account.

Payment methods we accept

Credit cards

Resortifi accepts most credit cards issued by major financial institutions in the name of the primary guest, including American Express and Discover cards.

Debit cards

Resortifi accepts non-temporary, non-reloadable debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo that are linked to a checking account and issued in the name of the primary guest. These include debit cards from online banks, such as Chime, Ally, and others. It doesn’t include reloadable debit cards such as Simple, Chase Liquid, or EDD.

Prepaid cards

The only prepaid card Resortifi accepts is the Revolut card issued in the name of the primary guest.

App payments

Resortifi accepts Apple Pay on mobile devices in all locations and Google Pay on mobile devices in the US and Canada. If you use Apple Pay or Google Pay, we suggest adding an additional form of payment to your account in case you incur post-trip costs, which can’t be paid for with a digital payment app.

When we charge for a trip

Trips paid for with credit cards, debit cards, or Revolut

We’ll charge a $1 payment authorization when you submit trip request. If the host accepts your request, we’ll refund $1 and charge your account for the full amount. If the host declines, we’ll refund $1*. Funds are typically released to your account within one business day but may take longer depending on your bank.

Trips paid with Apple Pay or Google Pay

We’ll authorize the full trip cost when you submit a trip request because these payment methods don’t allow partial authorizations. If the host accepts your request, we’ll charge the payment. If the host declines your request, we’ll refund the payment. Apple Pay and Google Pay can take up to 30 days to return the funds to your account.

Exception: If you choose a “Book Instantly” trip, we’ll authorize the full trip cost when you book. We’ll charge your payment method on file 40 hours after the authorization OR one hour before the trip start, whichever comes first. We process “Book Instantly” trip payments this way regardless of your form of payment.

Costs paid post-trip

Hosts can send a reimbursement invoice for the cost of fuel replacement, distance overages, tickets, and tolls. If you return a car in a condition that violates Resortifi’s Cleaning policy or No Smoking policy, the host can report the issue and charge a violation fee.
