London travel fees​

Have the proper payment accounts and information in place to collect costs from guests who incur a fee for travel in parts of London.

Eligible charges for London travel

If your guest drives in London, they may incur one or more of these charges:

  • London Congestion charge: A fee for cars operating in the Congestion Drive Zone (CDZ) during weekday peak hour
  • Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge: A fee for vehicles that operate in the CDZ but don’t meet the zone’s emissions standards
  • Dartford Crossing charge: A fee for vehicles that use the Dartford Crossing between 6 am – 10 pm

Account registration – TFL and Dartford Crossing

You must register all vehicles to a Transport for London (TFL) Auto Pay account and for Dartford Crossing pay as you go services. You must notify guests in your vehicle listing if your car isn’t ULEZ compliant.

You'll receive 100% of the automatic payment amount, up to £15 for the London Congestion charge, £12.50 for the ULEZ charge, and £2.50 for the Dartford Crossing charge. If you’re not signed up for automatic payment, a late London Congestion charge can run as high as £130, a late Dartford Crossing charge as high as £105, and a late ULEZ charge is £80. You won’t receive more than the automatic payment charge.

Guest payment options Guests can pay the London Congestion Charge and the ULEZ charge up to 90 days in advance or by midnight of the next charging day. For a charge that’s issued on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, the deadline is midnight Monday. Include these payment links — London Congestion Charge and ULEZ charge — in your vehicle description to make it easier for guests to pay

If the guest doesn’t pay in advance or by the payment deadline, you can invoice them for the cost within 90 days of the end of their trip. You’ll receive an email notification when Auto Pay charges your TFL account.
